Our Fabric-Backed Plates

General Information

We offer the plates in the following sizes/shapes:

ROUND: 8” , 10” and 13” (limited) SQUARE: 7” and 10-1/2”

Plates are sold on an individual basis, except where indicated on the “One of a Kind” page, where some plates include a pedestal which has been securely adhered to the underside of the plate. These plates are created on a limited basis. Please see item descriptions for more details.

A variety of fabrics are used in creating the plates, including toile, 100% cotton and cotton-blends. We use newly produced fabric, as well as vintage and even some unusual fabric items (such as recycled scarves and doilies).

Caring for the Plates

Extra care is recommended when cleaning to avoid damage. The plates should not be immersed in water nor soaked. Hand-washing is recommended, using a damp sponge or cloth. If the plate is to be used for serving food, it can be cleaned by washing the top with a warm soapy wet cloth as you would a table or counter top. Wipe again with a rinsed out cloth to remove any soap residue. Dry the plate thoroughly. Make sure not to get any water on the underside of the plate. The underside can be cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth and drying immediately.

If the plate is to be used as an accent in the home or office then it will just require regular dusting. The plate can be dusted with a duster or cloth just as you would any other item.

Uses

Bake a batch of your favorite cookies, a yummy cake or healthy muffins, place on plate and wrap in basket wrap topped off with a festive bow! Why not include a copy of the recipe, too? Long after the goodies are gone, the plate will be a reminder of that special gift!

Instead of the usual bottle of wine hostess gift, surprise your host/hostess with a wine themed plate topped off with some deli cheese, specialty crackers and a cheese knife. Your appreciative host/hostess will have—and remember—your thoughtful gift forever!

For the sports enthusiast, get those game tickets that he or she wants so badly, and present them on a plate. Or for that TV sports fan, include some microwave popcorn, a couple cans of refreshments, and a bag of their favorite candies or nuts!
